The space division of SEA, a Cohort plc company, has designed a flexible,modular nanosatellite architecture, under a programme funded by the European Space Agency (ESA). Known collectively as the OmniSat architecture, SEA has conceived a complete nanosatellite “kit of parts”.

Bristol, 28 October 2013 – As part of SEA’s (a Cohort plc company) commitment to support its local community, the Company is a co-sponsor of the Avon and Somerset Neighbourhood Policing Awards, which hunt to find the ‘Best on the Beat’ in Avon and Somerset. Communities were asked to nominate their favourite officers and police staff, attracting more than 500 nominations. The winners of each of seven categories were announced at the awards dinner at Cadbury House Hotel, Congresbury on 24 October 2013.

Missing space mascot and balloon discovered after six month long search Frome, 30 September 2013: Deimos, a missing MARSBalloon, containing experiments and a UK Space mascot, has been found in a Nottinghamshire field, exactly six months after it was launched in Somerset. On 22 March 2013, two MARSBalloon missions were launched from Frome, Somerset by a team from SEA (a Cohort plc company) and students from local schools, with funding from the UK Space Agency. Called Phobos and Deimos, the pair of modified high-altitude balloons, contained 140 student experiments between them. However, only Phobos was successfully recovered later that day.
