Summary

An exciting and challenging assistant project management role supporting the Programme Manager in leading a complex technical programme relating to SEA’s state of the art external communications system on submarines.

Job Role

The role involves supporting the Programme Manager in leading and managing a large programme, ensuring consistent on-time delivery within budget and assuring excellent relationships with customers, suppliers and other external parties.

Project and financial planning, progress monitoring and reporting, risk and opportunity management, and change and conflict management form a key part of the role. The job holder must have excellent communication skills and be a competent user of MS Office packages including MS Project.  Flexibility and adaptability are key with the ability to support multiple activities at any one time and to refocus effort at short notice.

The job is based in Beckington although the role may require visits to customer and supplier premises typically for progress and other project related meetings.

Experience Required

The candidate shall typically have two to three years of project and / or bid management experience ideally working in the defence industry. An appreciation of naval communications technologies and / or systems engineering principles across project lifecycles would be beneficial.
