SEA’s Legacy Locker Avoids Downtime

Subsea equipment re-use and refurbishing expert, SEA, has provided refurbished electrical jumper assemblies to Chevron North Sea Limited (“Chevron”) that were urgently needed to support ongoing operations. By offering a quick solution for replacing old parts that would have taken weeks to manufacture from new, SEA delivered the equipment to Chevron in just over two weeks.
Through its Legacy Locker service – which provides reused and refurbished equipment for the oil and gas industry – SEA was able to examine a collection of Chevron’s existing used connectors and select other components from the SEA inventory. The parts were then refurbished, built, tested and certified, mitigating potential delays to ongoing Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit operations.
As it can take many weeks to manufacture replacements for older equipment and parts of the type that Chevron required, the company turned to SEA’s Legacy Locker. Legacy Locker offers the purchase, refurbishment and recertification of used equipment for the subsea production controls market. It provides a sustainable solution for obtaining rare, obsolete and replacement parts, and helps the oil and gas industry derive maximum value from its existing assets.
