The SEA Spotlight: David, Business Development
29 Jul 2020
Under the SEA Spotlight today is David, our fantastic Business Development Executive situated at our facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Having had a rather diverse career, David joined us in 2015. Being ex-RAF, his military background knowledge was invaluable. Not only that, but he had previously lived in Malaysia so his familiarity with the region and language instantly made him the perfect candidate for SEA. Amongst his previous roles, he worked at RS Components, Marconi/E2V and Avon Rubber. In the marine industry, he worked for Global Marine laying fibre optic cables between continents for the internet and power cables for wind farms and island interconnectors. He also worked at Servowatch Systems as Head of Customer Care, supplying integrated platform management systems to naval vessels and large private yachts. He was one of the few civilians to be trained in bacterial and virus challenges at the Porton Down centre for Chemical, Biological and Nuclear warfare.
On a day-to-day basis, David works alongside a whole range of different people and cultures across South East Asia, so relishes in the diversity of his role. Promoting our great technology and innovative solutions within the region offers huge opportunities for growth. David has been crucial to the projects and contracts we have across the region and we call upon his experience and knowledge to develop and grow these opportunities for the future.
As an integral part of our Business Development team, you will see David at our upcoming events in 2021 including ADAS, taking place in April in the Philippines and Indo Marine, being held in Jakarta in May.
