This National Career’s Week, we are celebrating some of our team members who have developed their careers and skillset through careers programmes at SEA.
Liam joined SEA as a Logistician in 2017. He held a number of roles within the Production department before he enquired about opportunities for him to expand his knowledge and increase his skillset within Engineering.
Opting to undertake an Apprenticeship Qualification in Mechanical Inspection, Liam worked hard and successfully completed it at the end of 2020. Studying like this in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic was not easy, but Liam excelled at not only his qualification but also his day job, which included secondments throughout the Production teams to cover periods of leave and furlough.
“Completing my Mechanical Inspection apprenticeship qualification definitely gave me more confidence in my role and a deeper understanding of the skills required to undertake the job successfully. It made me consider my career path specifically within Engineering and opened up opportunities for the future. The support I received from SEA throughout my study period was brilliant.”
Apprentice qualifications at SEA are offered to those wanting to develop their skillset in one chosen field and are usually completed in a much shorter timeframe than traditional Apprenticeships. They are a great way to kick-start your career or push you in a particular direction if you are unsure of your path.
