For this year's National Apprenticeship Week we’re celebrating the value, benefit, and opportunity that apprenticeships bring, whether you're beginning your career or changing your career path.
The theme for the National Apprenticeship Week 2024 is “Skills for Life”. Apprenticeships provide the opportunity to combine practical work with theory and study, enabling apprentices to gain valuable skills and put into practice what they have learnt. Essentially, providing them with hands-on experience and a skills toolkit to equip them for life.
SEA has an extensive history of apprenticeship opportunities, creating exciting career paths, development, and progression opportunities for our people. Many of our former apprentices are now studying for higher and degree apprenticeships, and others have become established professionals we are proud of.
Many of our Senior Management and Leadership teams began their early careers as an apprentice, including our Managing Director! So, the world is your oyster and the opportunity to develop to your early career to your full potential, is real.
As we’re growing as a company, the focus more than ever is about investing in our people and growing our own talent from within. We want to invest and develop our talent both as individuals and professionals. Our recent intake of apprentices are all progressing well within their roles.
We'll continue to focus on development and training; mentoring, buddying and providing real life experiences to fulfil interesting, rewarding careers. This enables us to build a talent workforce with skills matched to SEA’s current and future needs.
This week, I attended the National Apprenticeship Show held at Sandy Park, Exeter. It had two points of interest for me:
Apprenticeships offer up new and exciting opportunities, even if you aren't currently doing one yourself!
